Construction & Engineering Graduate Training

Kabul University

AUG 2018 – JAN 2019

Kabul, Afganistan

With CDGAs strong knowledge of and experience in engineering and architecture, the opportunity to train graduate at the Kabul University Polytechnic was an ideal one. Building on work for the British Ministry of Defence, the Finnish Embassy in Kabul and many private Afghani clients, CDGA was able to deliver courses in construction quality, international building codes and contract management. The graduates we were training came from the engineering and architectural disciplines and the course was geared towards the organisations that they would be dealing with, primarily the coalition forces and Afghan national army. Part of much larger reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan, the courses were funded by a range of nations and NGOs. Another large upgrade CDGA completed for SSE was the update of the roadway lighting at the plants to a modern system. With the new system being more energy efficient and requiring a low level of maintenance, the update was a success. Additionally, we also worked on outfall water foam mitigation. With large amounts of water being used daily at the power stations, the system needs to run as smoothly as possible and this was one problem area that CDGA was able to use its technical expertise to remedy.
